The second National Youth academic Forum on Laser Spectral Technology was held in Hefei from April 20 to 23, 2018, drawing more than 150 young scholars to attend the conference.

This conference aims to promote the benign development of laser spectrum technology and encourage themore young scholars to display their own advantages.

At the opening ceremony, LIU Jianguo, vice president of Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, delivered a speech in which he put forward valuable suggestions for young scholars to further scientific goals condensed and cooperative innovation.

Organizing Committee Chairman KAN Ruifeng and Secretary General MA Weiguang expressed warm welcome to the participants and expressed earnest expectations for the meeting，hoping that more young scholars could accurately position themselves and make continuous efforts of innovation and research.

BI YaLei, director of the Shenzhen Advanced Technology Research Institute, introduced the first "Pioneer Cup" Future Technology Innovation Competition, and hoped young scholars to do better collide with the spark of thought.

At the conference, young scholars had in-depth discussions and exchanges on the latest research advances in laser spectrum technology and its application methods, as well as on innovative applications in the fields of energy and environment, industrial production, medical and health, and aerospace.

A total of 27 young scholars made oral reports on the application of laser absorption spectroscopy, laser photoacoustic spectroscopy, laser induced breakdown spectroscopy, laser heterodyne spectroscopy and optical cavity enhancement spectroscopy in related fields, arousing a lively discussion at the meeting.

After the meeting, the organizing committee expressed its gratitude to the participants and encouraged young scholars to actively participate in the application for the next academic forum to strengthen academic exchanges and cooperation among relevant scholars.
