A Commemorative Ceremony Held to Remember Professor Ting-sui GE

Recently, senior officials in HFIPS joined a commemorative ceremony to remember Professor Ting-sui GE, Founder of ISSP Institute, Hefei Institutes of Physical Science.

As a worldwide well-known solid-state physicist and metallurgist, Prof.GE invented the Kê- type torsion pendulum and discovered of the Kê grain-boundary internal friction peak in metals and metallic alloys. He is also the proposer of the Kê grain-boundary model of disordered atomic groups.

"What we should learn from Prof. Ge is the scientific spirit he represented- patriotism, innovation, truth-seeking, sacrifice, collaboration and training future talents,” said HUANG Chenguang, president of HFIPS, “He is good at opening up the frontiers of science and basic issues, establishing original experimental methods and theoretical systems.”
