Scientists Develop Polarized Scanning Atmospheric Corrector Identification Product
Date: 2019/05/14 Author: DONG Hao; ZOU Peng; SUN Zhen

According to Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, their scientists have developed Polarized Scanning Atmospheric Corrector (or PSAC ) Identification Product for HJ-2 A/B Satellite. And the new product passed its delivery and acceptance review in Hefei city in this April.

HJ-2 A/B Satellite plays an important role in Medium Resolution Optical Observation Constellation of the National Civil Space Infrastructure Remote Sensing Satellite System. It consists of two satellites with identical technical status, each of which is equipped with one PSAC.

PSAC could detect atmospheric multi-spectral information, which could realize the same field of view as the Wide-Swatch Multi-spectrum Camera (or WMC).

And then it could acquire spectral and polarization information by time synchronization and spatial coverage detection to achieve high-precision detection and inversion of aerosol and water vapor as well as to obtain atmospheric parameters over the imaging area.

With these parameters input, the ground-atmospheric correction model based on radiation transmission works to fix the image of WMC or other payloads, and as a result it obtains clearer land surface images to meet the requirements of atmospheric correction of image products such as WMC.
