ZHENG Xiaobing

Dr. ZHENG Xiaobing, Ph.D supervisor, Professor and Deputy Director of Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (AIOFM), Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is Deputy Director of Key Laboratory of Optical Calibration and Characterization, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

 

He received a B.S. in Optical Engineering from Zhejiang University in 1990, and a M.S. in 1994 and a Ph.D. in 1998, both in Optics from AIOFM. During 2000 - 2001, he worked in University of California at Santa Barbara as a visiting scientist. He was a professor in University of Science and Technology of China and a graduate student supervisor of Anhui University since 2011. Since 2002 Dr. Zheng served as team leaders and PIs and were responsible for 17 science projects from Natural Science Foundation, Science and Technology Ministry of China and Chinese Academy of Sciences. He published about 15 papers as first author and more than 120 papers as co-authors, and was granted 11 patents since 2002.

Working Experience :

2011- present, joint professor at University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) 1995-present, assistant professor, associate professor and professor at Optical Remote Sensing Department, Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

2000-2001, visiting scientist at Ocean Physics Lab, University of California at Santa Barbara. Opportunities Dr. Zheng supervised 21 master students and 19 doctoral students since 2000.

 

Research Field:

Dr. ZHENG is active in research and development of advanced method and instrumentation for precise optical radiometry and calibration of satellite optical sensors. His group is leading in exploration of new generation approaches for pre-launch and in-flight calibration of optical sensors. His research interests in recent years cover optical radiometric standard techniques, development of intelligent observing instrument for test sites, highly accurate radiometric benchmark based on parametric down-conversion effects, and global calibration network with big data processing.
