Institute of Health and Medical Technology (IHMT), focusing on integration of basic and translational medical research to provide novel therapies and technologies for the clinic, is a new medical research unit of Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. IHMT is composed of four research subunits including Innovative drug research center, medical physics technology center, basic medicine research center, and translational medicine research center， as well as two affiliated hospitals including Hefei cancer hospital, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Jinggang town community general hospital of Hefei Shushan Economic Development Zone.

The research scope of IHMT covers the basic medical research including the pathological mechanism of tumorigenesis, novel therapeutic targets identification, epidemiology, novel diagnostic and treatment technologies, equipment as well as the new clinical concepts etc. Currently there are over 50 PIs who have received the oversea research or clinical training are exploring the diverse medical areas. The institute sincerely welcome outstanding scholars from the areas of biology, chemistry, physics, pharmacology, biotechnology, medicine and other emerging new medical areas to join the fast growing teams.
