Li Changchun-- Politburo Standing Committee member of CPC Central Committee, visited Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ASIPP) to inspect EAST Superconducting Tokamak, the National Mega-projects of Science Research on October 17th 2009.. Accompanying Li Changchun were leaders from local provincial and municipal governments, including Provincial Party Secretary Wang Jinshan and Party Secretary of Hefei, Sun Jinlong

 

Li Changchun was very pleased that ASIPP has successfully completed the world's first full superconducting experimental Tokamak device, especially the independent innovation achievements.Li Changchun hope ASIPP takes full advantage of the EAST device and plays more important role in world fusion research field. He looked to the fusion energy utilization for the benefit of the whole humankind.

 

Wang Yingjian, the director of Hefei Institutes of Physical Sciences, and leaders from ASIPP including Li Jiangang and Zhang Xiaodong, accompanied Li Changchun’s visit.
