TAN Tieniu Visited CASHIPS and Investigated the Information and International Cooperation Works

On July 7th, Dr. TAN Tieniu, the deputy Secretary-General  of CAS, visited Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences(CASHIPS), and carried out field inspection on information works and international cooperation.

The investigation was accompanied by Dr. LIAO Fangyu, CAS Deputy Director General, Dr. HUANG Xiangyang, the director of CAS networks center, MIAO Jianming, the Vice-Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. CAO Aimin, Director of Comprehensive department, CAS International Cooperation Bureau, and Dr. CHEN Mingqi, the director of Information Work Office.

During the inspection visit, Dr. TAN Tieniu first visited the Institute of Plasma Physics (IPP), and looked at EAST device, an international cooperation platform for fusion reaction research. Dr. ZHANG Xiaodong, the vice director of IPP, reported the international cooperation progresses based on EAST. 
 
Afterward, TAN Tieniu and other visitors inspected CASHIPS computer center, asked the detailed progresses in e-science project. Dr. LI Xiaofeng, director of CASHIPS information center, introduced visitors the current working progresses and the supporting computer hardware and software facilities.
 
In the following forum meeting, Dr. WANG Yingjian, the director of CASHIPS, gave an overall progress presentation of CASHIPS on information and international cooperation, with some typical examples.

TAN Tieniu asked us to conscientiously sum up our experiences, plan better for the future, and make more explorations aiming for a world class institute.
