On Oct. 8, Prof. Ishii of Hiroshima University Engineering Department was appointed as “CAS Visiting Professorships for Senior International Scientist” in the Institute of Intelligent and Machine (IIM). Prof. WANG Zengfu, the Director of IIM, awarded Prof. Ishii with the certification of appointment. After the awarding ceremony, Prof. Ishii set agreements with IIM about the coopration between Eng. Depart. of Hiroshima Univ. and IIM. According to the subsequent agreement, Professor Ishii will visit IIM in the future and carry out collaborative researches at IIM. Professor Ishii received his Ph.D. degree of engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan, in 2000. And he has been a professor at School of Engineering, Hiroshima University since 2007. He engaged in the R&D of high-speed vision chips and high-speed vision application, and awarded more than 30 major research grants with 3 billion JP Yen in financial support. He is the patent holders of dozens of Japan and international patents. He works closely with several Japanese companies and also has his own companies related with high-speed vision.
