EAST begins to achieve plasma discharges and H-mode, despite all the technical challenges. With the addition of RMP, NBI, LHCD, and diagnostics and other major upgrades, a lot the newly-out-of-oven experiment data were collected. ASIPP scientists are now focusing on data analysis, and a series of EAST experimental physics seminars will be organized.
The first seminar was held on July 18thwith a topic of “Preliminary RMP experiment on EAST tokamak”. Several reports on experimental data analysis and theoretical understanding of the RMP experiment were presented, triggering a broad discussion.
Thisseries of seminars will be held every week. Many young researchers born in the 80s and early 90s, voluntarily share their understandingsand theories about the observed physical phenomena.
The up-coming seminar will focus on “‘NBI Heating and H-mode”.
