Research group led by Dr. Guowen Meng from The Institute of Solid State Physics (ISSP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), made important progress in making “Interconnected Nanowire / Nanotube and Nanotube  /Nanowire / Nanotube Heterojunctions with Branched Topology”. These nano-heterojunctions are central to the design of building blocks for nanocircuits, nanodevices, and nanosystems.

A paper entitled “A General Synthetic Approach to Interconnected Nanowire/Nanotube and Nanotube / Nanowire / Nanotube Heterojunctions with Branched Topology ” was recently published on Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 48 (39), 7166-7170 (2009). The paper was featured as cover story on Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. and was also reported on Nature China as Research Highlights entitled “ Nanoelectronics: Now at a junction”. The research was funded by National Outstanding Youth Foundation, significant scientific research plan on nano-technology, and CAS 100 Talents Program.
