At the invitation of Dr.ZHANG WeiJun,the deputy director of Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (AIOFM), Dr. WANG Xue-Bin from Pacific Northwest National Laboratory & Washington State University, visited AIOFM.
Dr. WANG presented a seminar entitled “Probing solution phase species and chemistry in the gas phase” on July 15th. In his talk, he introduced his research progresses in past ten years. A series of experimental techniques have been developed in his lab to investigate multiply chanions in the gas phase. These investigations provide microscopic information for understanding solution phase chemistry and inorganic materials involving these anions.
Dr. WANG Xuebin’s research has been focusing on the investigation of free and solvated multiply-charged anions using photoelectron spectroscopy. His work were published on many top scientific journals, including Science,Nature,Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci,Phys. Rev. Lett, J. Am. Chem. Soc.,Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.
Professor WANG also visited the Laboratory of Environmental Spectroscopy, and other laboratories at the Environmental Optical Center and the Atmosphere Optical Center. He had extensive discussions and exchanged ideas with scientists from AIOFM.
