At the invitation of Anhui Firefighting Bureau, President of Long Beach Fire Fighting Association, California, USA, Arnold W. Hull visited ASIPP on May 12 among his other high-tech and industrial stops. He was welcomed by Ms. Dong Shaohua.
After listening to a brief introduction about ASIPP and EAST tokamak by Ms Dong, Mr. Hull expressed his interests on EAST and asked questions like: Why EAST is called “the little sun”; what tokamak means, etc. When visiting EAST superconducting tokamak, he exchanged his opinions with ASIPP staffs about Japan nuclear accident, and was relieved to learn that EAST experiment is safe, and fusion is safe.
Before leaving, he thanked for ASIPP’s warm reception and said “Your work will change the world”.
