Within the support of Sino-Danish Center (SDC) for education and research, the 3rd Sino-Danish Autumn School on Plasma Physics and Technology hosted by ASIPP was held from September 17 - 20. More than fifty participants from Denmark and China attended this school, which taught subjects on turbulence & transport, divertor physics, shape controlling, plasma material, etc.
Dr Guosheng Xu, director of the Chinese SDC, gave an opening speech; he said that “we are doing the greatest thing for human”, as fusion energy is a green and sustainable energy, a dream that we should work together to realize. Prof. Volker Naulin, on behalf of the Danish SDC, was very glad to see so many young guys participating in the autumn school and praised the joint Sino-Danish activities. He briefed the first and second plasma autumn schools, which were held in ASIPP and in Beijing respectively, and their achieved results
During the three-day school, thirteen professors and senior scientists from UCSD, Dalian University, ASIPP, and Technical University of Denmark gave lectures; these lectures offered an insight into the various interconnected research domains, which is very helpful to PhD students as well as undergraduate students. At the end of the school, an examination was given to the students to test the knowledge they learned.
Next year, Sino-Danish Autumn School will be held at the new campus of Graduate University of CAS, north of Beijing if possible.
