Prof. John Bell, head of School of Chemistry, Physics and Mechanical Engineering, Queensland University of Technology (QUT), visited ASIPP on July 16 with the invitation of Prof. Songyuan Dai, Director of Key Lab of Novel Thin Film Solar cell, CAS (Key Lab)
During his visit, Bell presented a lecture entitled “Nanostructured materials for applications in solar energy”. By explaining the one-step synthesis of tri-layer nanostructured photoanode with micro-flower as scattering layer and new counter-electrode materials for sensitized solar cells, he introduced the related research work at QUT, which covers a range of nanostructured materials and their characterization in solar energy, including in dye-sensitized solar cells, organic polymer-carbon nanotube hybrids, solar photocatalytic production of hydrogen and solar photo catalysis in this lecture.
After the lecture, participants made a lively exchange and discussion in academic report of this field. Then Prof. Bell visited the Key Lab with the accompany of Prof. Yuantong Gu, his co-worker.
