Headed a six-member group from Consulate General of the United States of America, Shanghai, Consul General Robert Griffiths visited ASIPP a second time since his last visit in November, 2011.  

Wan Baonian, deputy director, showed the guests the upgraded EAST tokamak and its subsystems, ITER power supply, CICC workshop. Griffiths was very much impressed by the research achievement and rapid progress made by ASIPP, said that “ASIPP is the only institution that I have ever visited twice in the past three years”.  

Learning the close cooperation between ASIPP and US labs, Griffths said that he would make efforts to facilitate and support China-US personal exchange and collaboration in fusion research.
