The 28th Symposium on Fusion Technology (SOFT-2014), a well-known bi-yearly international conference in the field of fusion technology, was held in San Sebastian, Spain during Sept.29 to Oct.3, 2014, with attendance up to 1,000 experts and scholars from all over the world. The topics involve the magnetic confinement fusion theory, experiment, simulation and nuclear technology, materials technology, first wall, etc.  

Prof. Yican Wu and other four members from INEST•FDS Team attended the conference. Prof. Wu’s exciting and passionate presentation, titled "Overview of Fusion Nuclear Technology and Safety Research Activities in China", inspired extensive discussion from the audience, which would probably lead to possible cooperation in the future. He was also invited as the chairman of the conference in the closing session. During the symposium, Profs. Yican Wu and Qunying Huang and other members from FDS Team also made presentations in a series of satellite meetings of International Energy Agency (IEA). In addition, the posters from FDS Team attracted a lot of experts and scholars for deep discussion.  

The attendance to the conference was helpful to be aware of the latest information and progress in the field of fusion technology, promoted the international cooperation with famous research institutes, and further strengthened the influence of INEST•FDS Team in fusion energy and technology in the world.
