The 4th International Symposium on Atmospheric Light Scattering and Remote Sensing (ISALSaRS’15) has been held in Wuhan, China from June 1th to 6th, 2015. Prof. Liu Dong and other 11 researchers and students from the Center for Atmospheric Optics of AIOFM attended this conference.
The ISALSaRS'15 followed the history of this symposium series and continued to tackle emerging theoretical and observational issues in atmospheric sciences. Active and passive remote-sensing techniques and theories for measuring atmospheric and other environmental variables were the main themes. Some famous and top experts in the field of light scattering at home and abroad had attended this conference and reported their latest results, and discussed the future directions of atmospheric light scattering and remote sensing.
Prof. Liu Dong hosted the opening ceremony and chaired the session of “wind measurements”. He gave an invited report entitled “Aerosol and cloud microphysical properties observed by a multi-wavelength Raman lidar”. There were 11 papers in total from AIOFM were presented in oral or poster session, which gave an all-round view of achievements in the area of lidar atmospheric sounding studies in AIOFM.?
The 5th ISALSaRS conference will be held in Hefei, China ,?and hosted by Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (AIOFM), CAS and University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2017.
