Jaebeom Lee in the talk (Imaged by JI Yuannan) | Prof. Jaebeom Lee focused on the design, assembly of magnetic nanocomposites and their optical, electrochemial and catalytic property. First, Prof. Lee introduced the synthesis of magnetic nanocomposites, including elemental (Mn, Fe, Co and Ni) with novel morphology, alloy (FePt, FeCo, FeNi) and oxide (Fe3O4) etc. and then he described how to combine magnetic nanomaterials with surface plasmon like Au, Ag, Pt, Pd and how to make them self-assembly under the extra magnetic field at 0D, 1D, 2D and 3D. Finally, he introduced this magnetoplasmoinc nanomaterials application on magnetic, optical, electrochemical and catalytic property. His reports got the attentions of all the participants and they did interactive discussion. And then Prof. Haimin Zhang from ISSP introduced the overview of Environmental and Energy Nanaomaterial Centre and discussed the possibility of cooperation of magnetic nanocomposites in the field of catalysis and sensor. Prof. Jaebeom Lee received his PhD from Robert Gordon University from UK in 2003 and did his postdoctoral research in Prof. Nicholas A. Kotov’s group in the University of Michigan. For his excellent achievements in nanomaterials, he got the Newport Research Excellence Award of University of Michigan in 2004. And in 2007 he was awarded as the ONR Young Investigator Award of Korea-USA Nano Forum. Since 2006 he joined in Pusan National University, he has got the first prize of outstanding scientific researcher for two years. He was awarded the outstanding invention by Nano Korea in 2014. Prof. Jaebeom Lee has made remarkable contribution in nanobiomaterial field; he has taken over 15 projects from National Research Foundation of Korea and World Class University Project, including Korea-China, Korea- Japan and Korea-USA Project. He has 120 publications in peer-reviewed journals and books, including Science, Nature Materials, JACS,ACS Nano, Angewandte Chemie, Nano letters, Journal of Physical Chemistry C, Langmuir, etc. His citation was over 3100. Prof. Haimin Zhang introduced the overview of Environmental and Engery Nanomaterial Center (Imaged by JI Yuannan) |
