Prof. Jow-Tsong Shy In His Talk
At the invitation of Prof. GAO Xiaoming, Prof. Jow-Tsong Shy from National Tsing Hua University (Taiwan) visited Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (AIOFM) on Sept. 1, 2015.
Prof. Jow-Tsong Shy gave presentations entitled Mid-IR Laser Spectroscopy of H3+ Molecular Ion and Precision Spectroscopy of Atomic Helium. He mainly introduced the important role of H3+ ion in the universal exploration and the astronomical observation, and the dynamic frontier of He atomic fine spectroscopy in the verification of quantum electrodynamics theory. In addition, he gave more details about the development of the Mid infrared tunable OPO laser with high precision and narrow line width, laser frequency comb, and the discharge tube etc. Then, Prof. Shy showed the results of the fine spectra of H3+ and He atom by using these high performance equipments and saturated absorption spectra.
After the presentation, the both sides talked about the cooperation in the future.
