XIE Pinhua

XIE Pinhua, Ph.D, Professor, deputy directior of Anhui Institute of Optics & Fine Mechanics (AIOFM), Heifei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). She received a B.S. in Applied Physics from Hefei University of Technology in 1989 and obtained M.S. and Ph.D. from Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics. During 2000-2002, Dr. XIE worked in University of Heidelberg as a visiting scientist.

She is currently the PI of projects from Natural 863, NSFC and Chinese Academy of Sciences. Her research interests focus on optical/spectroscopic methods and techniques for trace gases monitoring in the atmosphere. Her group is active in the field of UV/Vis DOAS technique, remote sensing of trace gases from ground-based and airborne platforms, observation of regional air pollutants distribution and transport and techniques for emission in-site monitoring from various industry sources.
