Major Snow, or Da Xue (大雪) in Chinese, is the 21th of China's 24 solar terms. It usually occurs on December 7 this year when the sun's elliptical longitude reaches 255 degrees.
As old saying goes, a timely snow promises a good harvest. During Major Snow, the snow becomes heavy and begins to accumulate on the ground. The temperature drops significantly.
