As the Lunar New Year approaches, a joyful and culturally rich “Fu” (福) Calligraphy Activity was successfully held at Yidu Café on February 11, bringing together international friends from across the island to celebrate the upcoming Spring Festival.
During the event, participants were introduced to the meaning and cultural significance of the Chinese character "Fu," which symbolizes good fortune, happiness, and prosperity in the year ahead. With brushes in hand, they eagerly tried writing the character themselves under guidance, experiencing the charm of traditional Chinese calligraphy firsthand.
The atmosphere was warm and festive. Red paper, black ink, and smiling faces brought vibrant energy to the outdoor venue as everyone immersed themselves in this meaningful cultural tradition. Many participants shared that it was their first time writing Chinese calligraphy, and they were excited to take home their own “Fu”character as a symbol of good luck for the New Year.
The activity not only offered a hands-on cultural experience but also provided a wonderful opportunity for cross-cultural exchange and friendship. Through simple strokes of the brush, participants connected more deeply with Chinese traditions and the spirit of the Spring Festival.
With the Lunar New Year just around the corner, we extend our heartfelt wishes to everyone on the island and around the world:
Happy Lunar New Year! May the Year bring you happiness, health, and prosperity!
