Being less percent of working group on science island, women's participation and contributions are still recognized in research and innovation.
On Mar. 8, the International Women's Day, aside from many activities honoring women scientists' achievements in science, HFIPS offers chances for women and girls to enjoy the spring sunshine and experience some old traditional skills.
Each institution (altogether 7) has its own idea about ways to celebrate. Take Institute of Intelligent Machines for example, they learned the Chinese traditional tie dye technique from a tie dye instructor. The dye, with a color similar to indigo, is made of a plant called woad, a traditional Chinese medicine.
Others chose flower arrangement, strawberry-picking, outside-walking etc.
Follow us and see how they had fun on this special day.
