Ongoing Cooperation with Thailand

Mar 15, 2022 | By ZHAO Weiwei

Just as the old saying goes, "It is always a pleasure to greet a friend from afar." Friend from Thailand will be here soon.

Tokamak HT-6M, the 2nd generation of fusion research devices developed in the Institute of Plasma Physics, Hefei Institutes of Physical Science (HIFPS) are waiting for its new owner, Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology (or TINT). The technicians from Thailand will be here in a few weeks for detailed handling work. A temporary office has been ready with the lake and green trees in the view.

It has been four years since the ceremony of HT-6M donation, a milestone in China-Thai cooperation on fusion development, was witnessed by Princess Sirindhorn 4 years ago.  Scientists upgraded the system and re-assmebled it according to requirement in the past years. The real shipping will start in several months.
