DA XUE (Major snow)is the 21st of the 24 traditional solar terms in the Chinese calendar, falling on December 6th this year. As the name suggests, it marks the arrival of heavy snow in many parts of China, signaling the start of winter's harshest period. During this time, temperatures drop significantly, and the ground is often covered in snow, which is seen as a symbol of nature's cold but beautiful transformation.
Today, Science Island still maintains the charm of late autumn with the temperature reaching a high of around 10°C. Ginkgo leaves carpet the ground. The maples and liquidambar trees are displaying a range of beautiful colors, from yellow to light red to deep crimson, creating a vibrant and colorful landscape.
