The 2nd CAS–NST Joint Workshop on Clean Energy and Advanced Materials, co-hosted by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the National Research Council of Science and Technology (NST) of Korea, was successfully held on Science Island in Hefei, Anhui Province on April. 8. The workshop was organized by the Institute of Nuclear Energy Safety Technology (INEST), HFIPS, CAS.

This event aimed to further enhance collaboration between CAS and NST in the fields of clean energy, advanced materials, and carbon neutrality technologies. It served as a platform to promote technological innovation and high-quality development in these critical areas.

More than 60 experts from over ten research institutions in both countries attended the event. Participating institutes included the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, Korea Institute of Fusion Energy, Korea Institute of Energy Technology, Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials, along with Chinese institutes such as HFIPS, the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, and the Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion.

During the conference, Chinese and Korean scientists shared their latest research and engaged in in-depth discussions on clean energy and advanced materials. The event also fostered new professional connections, laying the groundwork for fruitful collaborations in the future.

This joint workshop stands as one of the key cooperative mechanisms between NST and CAS. Participants expressed hopes for even closer scientific ties and stronger joint efforts to tackle global challenges in energy and materials science.
