Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Birmingham Visits AIOFM, HFIPS

On the morning of April 17, Professor William Bloss, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Head of the College of Life & Environmental Sciences, and Associate Professor Yuli Shan, both from the University of Birmingham, visited AIOFM, HFIPS, CAS. 

The visit began at 10:30 AM with a welcome speech, followed by an introduction to the University of Birmingham by Professor Bloss. Prof. XIE Pinhua, director of AIOFM then presented an overview of its key research areas and recent developments.

Both sides exchanged insights on their respective scientific focuses and held in-depth discussions on future cooperation. As part of the visit, the delegation toured the Comprehensive Environmental Optical Observation Field at the Environmental Optics Research Center of AIOFM, gaining a closer look at the institute’ s field-based research capabilities.

The visit aimed to strengthen academic ties and explore potential areas of collaboration in atmospheric science and sustainable development.
