From September 14 to 19, the 17th International Conference on Pulsed Lasers and Laser Applications (AMPL-2025) was held in Tomsk, Russia. The event was jointly organized by the Institute of Atmospheric Optics and the Institute of High Current Electronics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Tomsk State University, and the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
The conference brought together over 100 experts, young scientists, and scholars in the field of laser physics from Russia, China, Germany, Serbia, the United States, Azerbaijan, and Belarus. Chinese participants mainly came from the Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (AIOFM) of HFIPS, the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), and the Institute of Electrical Engineering, CAS.
Discussions at the meeting covered a wide range of topics, including gas and plasma lasers, metal vapor lasers, laser systems, novel laser optical technologies, as well as laser detection and applications. In particular, participants exchanged views on laser-based environmental monitoring, laser remote sensing, laser communications, and laser diagnostics of mechanical properties.
