11th EAST International Advisory Committee Meeting Held on Science Island," >
The 11th Meeting of the EAST International Advisory Committee was held at the Institute of Plasma Physics, the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, from November 24 to 26, 2025. Nineteen experts from international fusion research facilities and institutions attended the meeting in Hefei, with nearly 100 participants in total. Sixteen plenary presentations were delivered.
During the meeting, the Advisory Committee reviewed the recent progress of the EAST Mega-Science Team, focusing on experimental operation, physics research, facility upgrades, future development plans, international collaboration, and talent development. The Committee highly recognized EAST’s achievements in fusion experiments and mega-science facility research and development, as well as China’s roadmap for superconducting tokamak research.
The Committee also offered constructive recommendations for the next phase of EAST’s development. In addition, committee members conducted an on-site inspection of the magnetic confinement fusion mega-science facility.
