CAS Produced A Photo Collection to Tell Foreign Expert’s Story on Science Island

CAS produced a photo collection of a French expert, Vincent BRUNO who had spent two years on Science Island for implementing Articulated Inspection Arm Project (AIA) under collaborative framework of EAST-WEST joint laboratory.

The photo gallery has recorded 44 moments of Vincent BRUNO and his family to look back on their authentic Chinese life during their two-year stay on Science Island from 2014-2016.

Like the local residents, the French family took their kids to local school in the morning, then the husband went to office, the wife went for grocery. They picked their kids up when they were off school and they cooked together the Chinese cuisine for dinner.

Vincent BRUNO worked together with his Chinese colleagues on the AIA project. He also experienced together with his family the Chinese and Science Island' s culture. Two years later, they left China for France with the success of the project as well as long-lasting friendship of their Chinese friend.

The photo collection pictured a French expert’s typical life on Science Island, but also HFIPS-CEA’s collaborative story that started in last century from the fusion facility collaboration, then went on to the establishment of Sino-French Fusion Energy CenteR (SIFFER) in 2018 and continued.

The family often made small family camps on science island. In the above picture, behind them lay the beautiful Shushan Lake.

The Sino-French Fusion Collbaboration Week

Vincent BRUNO was working with Professor SONG Yuntao,the director of ASIPP, Eric VILIEDIEU, his French colleague in EAST facilities.  

During the Sino-French Fusion Collaborative Week, ASIPP and CEA had a Sino-French Fusion Cup friendship basketball match
