The Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST) in Hefei institutes of Physical Science (HFIPS) had its 100,000th discharge on 8 June, marking another memorable moment in its fifteen-year history since its first operation in 2006. This is just ten days after setting new world record at the end of May when they set a record for sustained heat in nuclear plasma-a temperature of 120 million C for 101 seconds.
Four generation EAST team members gathered together in EAST control room from across China to share this moment.
