When HU Hao, a 26 years old PhD student majoring on biophysics, put on the caps and gowns, ready for the graduation ceremony, he knew it’s time to say goodbye to campus and embark on the next phase of journey.
"I still remember how exited i was when setting feet on science island 5 years ago,” said HU, “HFIPS is a good place to continue further studies. It’s being lucky to conduct research with so many intelligent and talented people here. They gave me advice, and teach me new way of life. There are many moments over the past years, like the sci-tech week when I display the magic of science in front of children, which will precious memory in my whole life.
More than 300 graduates, including doctoral and master students, received their diplomas this year. They will use what they have learned to purse their dream.
"It is surely a sad thing to leave all the friends and teachers here, but to get on a new life path is always fascinating."
HU has been being busy in packing these days. He plans to mail part of his books to Guangxi university, where he is hired as assistant professor, "I’m ready to embrace the challenges. My school life has ended, but learning never."
LIU Jianguo, president of Hefei Institutes of Physical Science (HFIPS), expressed his congratulation to students. "My appreciation goes to all the mentors who have been giving guidance to students. And for all the Graduates, your hard work and dedication will help you to realzie your dream. I wish all of you a prosperous future!" he said at the commencement ceremony for the class of 2021.
