On October 17, the Mid-term Symposium of the fifth phase of the European Space Agency (ESA) and National Remote Sensing Center of China (NRSCC) / Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST) Cooperation "Dragon Programme" was successfully held in the form of a video conference.
XIANG Libin, Vice Minister of Science and Technology and Josef Ashbacher, Director of European Space Agency, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
The conference systematically summarized the phased results of the Dragon 5 and activities held in the past years.
As part of the fifth phase of this project-"Dragon 5", Prof. XIONG Wei's team from HFIPS focuses their research on satellite greenhouse gases retrieval, carbon monitoring and assessment, etc.
The team has made progress in greenhouse gas remote sensing monitoring and applications, including jointly development of the data processing and inversion business application system for the greenhouse gases monitoring instruments GMI onboard the Gaofen-5 satellite and the hyperspectral observation satellite, responsible for completing the preparation of the pilot implementation plan for urban atmospheric greenhouse gas monitoring in Zhengzhou City.
Dragon Programme is an international cooperation in the field of remote sensing applications between China and Europe. The purpose of the plan is to carry out cooperative research on the application of earth observation data in agriculture, forestry, water conservancy, disasters, surveying and mapping, atmosphere, ocean and other fields, so as to promote the improvement of the application level of remote sensing technology.
