Cell membrane has attracted extensive attention in worldwide and exhibited great application potential for drug delivery systems (DDSs). However, along with the wide application of the cell membrane in DDSs, some limitations seriously limit cell membrane-based DDSs in clinical use, such as the complexity of preparation technology. Therefore, it is highly important to develop methods for the preparation of biomimetic cell membranes in a simple and high-yield manner.
Non-molecular carbon disulfide (CS2) is widely viewed as a Bridgman’s polymer, [-(C=S)-S-]n which found by Bridgman in 1941, utilizing high pressure techniques. In Bridgman’s polymer, there are only carbon-sulfur bonds without bonds about carbon atoms, and all carbon atoms are 3 fold coordinated, which is a little different from the carbon in carbon dioxide (CO2).
It’s July again. EAST superconducting tokamak in ASSIP, HFIPS started its annually joint experiments together with worldwide participants from PPPL, MIT, DIII-D, ITER, GA, NIFS, etc.
The effective control of heat transfer is of great significance to improve energy efficiency. Thermal diode is one of the key elements for heat flow controlling. Similar to the current rectification effect of electronic diodes, heat flow is easily directed through one direction in a thermal diode, while obstructed in the opposite direction. Sizable heat rectification can be obtained using a junction of two solid materials with opposite trends in thermal conductivity as a function of temperature. This type of thermal diodes is attractive due to their scalability and analogy to electrical diode design.
A HFIPS-led project has developed a monitoring system to ensure communication and operation safety in railway section by sending early warning using fiber detection technology.
