From October 10 to 12, Professor Alain Becoulet, Chief Scientist of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project, visited the ASIPP, HFIPS for academic exchanges.
During his visit, Alain delivered a specialized report titled "Latest Progress of the ITER Project". The presentation attracted over a hundred attendees who engaged in lively discussions about the current progress of the ITER project, its scientific objectives, technological challenges, and future research directions.
SONG Yuntao, Director of ASIPP and also vice director of HFIPS, extended a warm welcome to Professor Becoulet, expressing optimism for deepening cooperation and exchanges in nuclear fusion research. He emphasized the vision of jointly advancing fusion energy development.
In-depth discussions include technical cooperation, exploring plans for future collaborations, joint experiments with EAST, and talent exchange initiatives.
