The International Cooperation Division of the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, held a Mid-Autumn Festival activity on September 17 at Science Island, bringing together international researchers and students from across the island.
The event featured a traditional Chinese lantern riddle activity. Participants tested their knowledge by solving riddles and learned more about Chinese culture in a fun and interactive way.
International friends also shared stories and traditions related to the moon and festivals from their own countries. HFIPS staff introduced the origins and customs of the Mid-Autumn Festival, including its cultural meaning of reunion and family.
People from different cultural backgrounds shared traditions, and celebrate the festival together.
