On October 28, experts from the French National High Magnetic Field Laboratory and the University of Caen visited the High Magnetic Field Laboratory of the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The visit included academic presentations, a tour of the laboratory facilities, and discussions on high magnetic fields, superconducting magnets, and magnetic materials.
Researchers from both sides presented their latest work in high magnetic field science, superconducting magnet technology, and magnetic materials. Topics included the behavior of cobalt-based alloys under high magnetic fields, the development of superconducting magnets, and advances in superconducting materials. The two sides also exchanged views on the operation of high magnetic field facilities, magnet technology development, and future research directions.
The delegation also toured the steady-state high magnetic field facility, where they learned about its experimental systems, operation, and user services.
