When the Chinese Lunar New Year of Tiger is approaching, alongside is the Beijing Winter Olympic 2022, making Beijing the world’s first "Dual Olympic City".

In the occasion of uncertainty, Beijing government has put forward all kinds of measures to ensure a successful grand event among which is the environment monitoring.

The atmospheric detection team of the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science takes a part in the "blue sky" protection for Beijing surroundings.

The team will spend a sixty-day from January to March to implement the air monitoring mission through three mobile vehicles that carries aerosol lidar and wind lidar to obtain air data.

Actually, this is not the first time for the team joining the "blue sky" protection of China's grand event. The credit goes to the quick monitors that are the lidars on the mobile vehicles to obtain data and then to draw high-resolution images of the how air particles distributed along laser path.

Moreover, compared to the detection site, the mobile vehicles make the detection more flexible and efficient that the air quality of Beijing surroundings could be detected within several hours.

This time in the special occasion of the Chinese Spring Festival, the team is also working in shifts at the front line to ensure an all-day-long monitoring of the target air transport path and areas.
