Breakthrough was achieved in Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST) with new plasma development! At 21:00 on April 12, the first 403-second steady-state H-mode plasma was achieved on EAST, Hefei Institutes of Physical Science (HFIPS), which is a new record of pulse length on high performance operation in tokamaks. On the second day at 19:00, the EAST team repeated this operational scenario, demonstrating the reliable capability of the device.
As looking back at the year of 2022, we organize here those brilliant work published in well-known journals shines like stars above but also pictures what HFIPSers do and how they explore in science.
In a paper published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) recently, a team led by Prof. WANG Junfeng from the High Magnetic Field Laboratory (HMFL), Hefei Institutes of Physical Science (HFIPS) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, biomimetically synthesized soft ferromagnetic nanoparticles with high magnetic targeting and tumor tissue penetration based on studying the biomineralization mechanism of natural "biocompass" ― magnetotactic bacteria.
