Recently, a research group led by Prof. WANG Junfeng from the High Magnetic Field Laboratory, Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, made a progress in the research of biological protein template regulating the growth of nanocrystals and then performed some applications.
A team led by Prof. WU Zhengyan from Institute of Intelligent Machines, Hefei Institutes of Physical Science developed a high-efficiency Z-scheme photocatalyst to deal with contaminants in water.
A research team including XU Wan, LIU Xiao-Di and Eugene from Hefei Institute of Solid-state Physics (ISSP), Hefei Institutes of Physical Science (HFIPS) led the international collaboration consisting of the School of Physics, University of Edinburgh, UK and HPSTAR, Shanghai, China to study the spontaneous ionization of Ammonia hemihydrate (AHH) under compression. They discovered Ionic Phases of Ammonia-Rich Hydrate at High Densities and the results of this study were recently published in Physical Review Letters.
A joint venture with an aim to independently develop, manufacture and sell integrated and cost-competitive helium cryogenic systems and offer related services, was set up on Science Island, Hefei.
Recently, Prof. GAO Xiaoming’s group, from Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (AIOFM), Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, demonstrated how they designed and manufactured a photoacoustic spectroscopy based sensor to measure aerosols and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) simultaneously.
