Recently, A team led by Prof. WU Zhengyan from Institute of Intelligent Machines,Hefei Institutes of Physical Science fabricated novel functional biochar composites (FBCs) using two solid waste-red mud and corn straw-and exploited them in acidic dye wastewater treatment. The paper was published in Journal of Cleaner Production.
A research team proposed a genetic classifier that can predict the sensitivity of neoadjuvant chemotherapy for breast cancer in the field of tumor molecular markers recently. The team is led by Prof. YANG Wulin and DAI Haiming from Hefei Institutes of Physical Science (HFIPS), Chinese Academy of Sciences.
High refractive index of the substrate material often leads to serious reflection on the surface of infrared optical elements, which will greatly reduce the transmittance of infrared light. To maximize the transmission of infrared light, antireflection (AR) film needs to be plated on the surface of infrared substrate. At present, sol-gel technology is an effective method for preparing high temperature resistant film. However, the thickness of the infrared AR film is large, and with the increase of thickness, the film will crack during annealing. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare the infrared AR coating by sol-gel method.
A study on the process of mitochondrial biogenesis in apoptotic cells observed significant enhancement of mitochondrial biogenesis in the early process of radiation-induced apoptosis.
Hot-electron photodetectors show poor photoelectric performance due to the limitation of the small number and low energy of hot electrons. Traditional phototransistors use electricity to drive the transport of hot electrons and control photocurrent. However, the existence of defects leads to a slow response rate, and voltage drive leads to a significant increase in dark current. Therefore an electrical drive system is required.
