Yesterday, a grand ceremony was held in Chinese Embassy in France for awardees of 2020 International Scientific and technological Cooperation Award of China. Among the 5 recipients, two of them are from France. Alain Bécoulet, a well-known physicist specialized on fusion energy, and Professor Jacques Caen, a renowned haematologist, received medals and certificates from Ambassador Lu Shaye, ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in France.
Over three years have passed since the Comprehensive Research Facility for Fusion Technology (CRAFT) started on December 14, 2018 its site infrastructure construction. Now we are happy to see the its completion.
Here comes the Spring Equinox! According to Chinese lunar calendar, we welcomed Vernal/Spring Equinox, one of the 24 solar terms on Mar. 20. It will end on April 5 this year.
In that recent campaign of EAST, a joint fusion team managed to prove experimentally, for the first time, the current driven by turbulence, via observed data during the experiment and simulations after. The turbulence-driven current, according to the team, was also an important factor to sustain the 100 million degrees of electron temperature stationary long-pulse plasma on EAST.
Topological charge-entropy scaling relation was proved in the kagome Chern magnet, a kind of magnet predicted to support intrinsic Chern quantum phases, according to a finding published on Nature Communications.
