A 1.8 K superfluid helium system was developed by a group of scientists from Institute of Plasma Physics (ASIPP), HFIPS of CAS. The system was debugged on October 20th, and successfully produced 1.8 K superfluid helium.
The first full-size conductor of the CARFT toroidal field (TF) coil was delivered to CRAFT Campus on October 9, 2022. Prof. Li Jiangang, also chief commander of CRAFT Engineering Headquarters, together with some other engineers and scientists witnessed the moment.
On August 12, with magnetic field of 45.22 Tesla created in SHMFF, HFIPS, researchers broke the record for the strongest steady magnetic field ever produced.
Around 3: 00 p.m. on July 27, 2022, people burst out into cheers in TT-1 control room of ASIPP on science island when Thai TT-1 team obtained their first plasma discharge in their fusion career. More than 20 engineers and researchers from China and Thailand witnessed this exciting moment.
