Recently, a research team led by Prof. HUANG Xingjiu from the Institute of Solid State Physics, Hefei Institutes of Physical Science of Chinese Academy of Sciences, constructed a highly stable solid contact calcium ion-selective electrode. They used synchrotron radiation technique to reveal that the transduction mechanism by which the solid contact layer participated in the potential response.
Recently, Professor XIE Pinhua's research group from the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science (HFIPS), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), provided direct evidence of intensive photochemical oxidation in the marine atmosphere through radical measurement.
Recently, a research group led by Prof. WANG Haixia from Hefei Institutes of Physical Science of Chinese Academy of Sciences, discovered the forms and amounts of tritium released at diferent temperatures from lithium titanate (Li2TiO3) irradiated with fusion neutrons, which contributed to optimizing the design of solid blankets in fusion reactors.
Recently, in collaboration with High Magnetic Field Laboratory at the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science of Chinese Academy of Sciences, a research group led by Prof. JIANG Chengbao and Prof. WANG Jingmin from School of Materials Science and Engineering at Beihang University developed a Ni34Co8Cu8Mn36Ga14 single crystal that exhibits giant magneto-superelasticity of 5%. This means the crystal can return to its original shape after being deformed, triggered by a magnetic field rather than physical stress.
A research team led by Professor WANG Rujing from Hefei Institutes of Physical Science of Chinese Academy of Sciences developed a new equipment which achieved fully automated and unmanned detection soil nutrients (such as Organic Matter, Available Potassium, Available Phosphorus, etc.) and heavy metals (including Pb, CD, Hg, As, Cr, etc.). They named it the High Throughput Soil Composition Intelligent Detection Robot Equipment.
