Applied Technology Research in Superconducting Magnet and Electricity Energy Saving


Supported by the knowledge innovation project, during the design and development process of superconducting Tokamak equipment, Applied Technology Research Center in Superconducting Magnet and Electricity Energy Saving of CAS has made deep research into superconducting technology,set up the most large-scale cryogenic system and cryogenic superconducting magnetic system and grasped cryogenic superconducting technology. Furthermore, here hives a lot of talents

cryogenics, thus it possesses  all essential qualifications to carry out large research on superconducting technology application.

There are two Helium cryogenic refrigeration systems with 500W at 4.5K refrigeratory capacity, and another such system with 2KW at 4K refrigeratory capacity (under construction) in the center. Besides, there are superconducting magnet experimental equipment and its accessories such as cryogenic system、vacuum system and power supply system. The experimental vacuum cryostat, about 6.14 meters high and 3.5 meters in diameter, has two pairs of current leads which capacity are 20kA/23 kV and 20 kA respectively. It can be test flat floor for multifold large cryogenic superconducting magnets.
